What is the role of the School Council?
We have an active pupil voice which contributes to school improvements for all children. We value pupil voice and encourage children to become involved in the life of the school as much as possible.
Pupil voice consists of several groups: the School Council, JRSOs (Junior Road Safety Officers), and a charity events team. These children lead and run whole school initiatives, such as Healthy Eating, Anti-Bullying and Safety as well as planning all charity events in school.
The school council, charity events team and JRSO’s are representatives from each class who meet with a lead adult regularly. The Council addresses issues raised by their class peers and pupil/parent attitude surveys; they develop the agendas, minutes and manage an allocated school budget.
How to contact us
We are always looking for suggestions about how to improve our school. As a School Council we have been discussing ways to make it easier for everyone to have their say. If any parents, carers or children have any ideas that they would like to pass on to school council please contact your class representative.
We look forward to announcing the new School Council members in September 2014 once the elections have taken place.
