Sex and Relationships Education

Children in year 5 and year 6 receive lessons in sex and relationships during the summer term and in each case these are age appropriate lessons which form part of the national curriculum expectations.

As a parent or carer, we will invite you to join us for a presentation explaining the content of lessons that are delivered in each year group.

Teachers will be delivering the content covered in our slides in the summer term. Year 5 will cover the objectives related to changes in a human body (puberty) and Year 6 will cover conception and birth in upcoming PSHE and science lessons.

If you have been unable to attend our presentation in person, or would like to review the content we covered, we have shared below a copy of the slides we used. Each presentation is specific to the appropriate year group. Each covers the content of the classroom lessons, language used and additional resources.

Please contact your child’s class teacher if you wish to discuss any aspects in further detail.
