Sports Day 2015 Results

The school field was a busy place this Wednesday as the whole school participated in our annual Sports Day - a combination of team based sporting challenges and track events for all year groups.

It was lovely to see so many parents and carers join us for the event in support of all participating children. We are sure that your presence and encouragement helped the children given their best and have a great time.

When all the events had finished and the house points were counted, the final results were:

• 1st Place: Falcons (484 points)
• 2nd Place: Eagles (474 points)
• 3rd Place: Owls (456 points)
• 4th Place: Kestrels (441 points)

Congratulations must also go to the Charity Events Team who raised a magnificent £95.85 from the bake sale.

The success of our Sports Day is in part the result of contributions from many individuals and groups, including:

• Tesco, who provided the fruit pots for the children’s snacks; a generous donation as part of their 'Farm to Fork' scheme
• The Hook School Parents Association for the loan of event equipment
• Volunteers from Beamline Steel, who helped setup the chairs, gazebos and audio system before everyone arrived
• Parents and carers who gave their support during the day and contributed items that were sold by the charities team

Finally, a special thank you to all the parents who were brave enough to join the parents races. We are sure your children were proud to see you on the track. Well done if you received a medal - if you didn't, we hope you might race for another next year!
