Athletics Team Competes

The school Athletics team competed against other teams at Robert Mays School this week with a number of successes.

Competing at this event were Carina Davison, Lucy Bullock, Leah Bonser, Lucy Hollinsworth, Ella Nicklinson, Ko Stephens, Joseph Blackburn, George Dillow, Jack Breed and Max Hughes.

After a cloudy start the sun shone brightly over the sports fields at Robert Mays School. Competing against three other schools, the athletics team took part in a 600m race, 80m sprint, long jump, throwing, assault course and a 100m relay.

All of the children showed fantastic determination and team spirit, cheering each other on. The boys worked well as a team to win second place in the relay with the girls not far behind achieving third.

Well done to all of the children that took part and thank you to all of the parents who came along to support the children in their event.
