Autumn by Emma

Autumn

I was inspired to write the poem as I had been on lots of walks through the woods during Autumn.

Autumn

  • Toasted marshmallows on wooden sticks,
  • Icy fingers as hard as bricks,
  • It’s bonfire night and shooting rockets,
  • Pass by folk with hands in pockets,
  • Up above the rustling leaves,
  • Scatter down from waving trees,
  • An icy wind creates a chill,
  • That freezes all the people still,
  • The dew is bright, the air is clear,
  • It won’t be long till winters here.
