We have an active pupil voice which contributes to school improvements for all children. We value pupil voice and encourage children to become involved in the life of the school as much as possible. At the start of the school year, children have the opportunity to contribute by running for a place in the School Council.

Children have been asked to consider how they may be able to contribute to the school council. Do they know someone who would represent their class well? Do they want to improve our school? Who would be a fair, communicative and hardworking representative?

Voting for School Councillors takes place in class very soon. In preparation for this, interested candidates have the opportunity to gain support from their peers by producing a brief campaign video.

Candidate Brief

Children who wish to run for School Council should prepare a brief video and explain why they would be a great choice of School Councillor. The video must be no more than one minute in length and should include the candidate speaking clearly about why they will make a good School Councillor.

Children should think about the qualities they possess that would make them a good choice of School Councillor. For example, a good listener, a good communicator, the desire to support others. Children may also have other experiences which would make them a good choice, or some great ideas for the school.

Completed videos must be taken to your class teacher by Monday 25th September 2017 on a memory stick. You may also share a link to a file sharing service (like Dropbox) and send this to the School Office with a subject line of 'school council video'. Due to the large size of video files, please do not attempt to send these to us as email attachments. The email address for the school office can be found at the foot of this page.

If you are not able to video at home, please speak to your class teacher or Mr Grant for help.
