We recently received a letter from Euan in year 4 who proposed that the school hold a World's Biggest Coffee Morning. As a result of Euan's suggestion, the school has collectively raised an incredible £1,349.20 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Here is what Euan said in his letter:
My name is Euan and I am in year 4. Please may me and my friends (Alex and Owen in year 3) raise some money for Macmillan Cancer Support on Friday 29th September.
We will make lots of cake but please can you ask people to bring in cakes to sell too?
It might mean we have to come out of lessons a bit before to setup but I promise we will catch up on the missed work. We might also need a little bit of help getting ready.
I think this is really important because no one deserves to live a life of pain and misery. Macmillan nurses really help people.
Today children came to school with cakes (many accompanied by parents with even more cakes!) and our classrooms and the school hall were filled with conversation as everyone enjoyed their cake and refreshments.
Thanks to Euan and his friends proposing the event and to you for your very generous donations. We are delighted to have raised a total of £1,349.20.
