Curriculum Policies
Our curriculum policies provide the structure from which the curriculum is planned and delivered. The policies here explain the methods we use and the resulting progression we aim to achieve in children.
Maths Calculation Policy
The Maths Calculation Policy explains the methods we use to teach children the fundamental skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Organised in linear form, the document demonstrates through visual examples and annotations the route of progression that each child will make.
It is important that in supporting the learning processes followed by the School, the examples shown here are followed by parents and tutors who may be working with children outside school. The teaching of Maths according to the explanation in the Maths Calculation Policy is cumulative in its impact upon children and their learning. The success of a child in fully comprehending the concepts being delivered is highly dependent upon their continued instruction form a consistent methodology.
